Winter 2005

From the Desk of the Executive Director

Hugh A. Barkley

As we embark on the new year, NCADD of Central Mississippi, Inc. looks at the challenges and seeks the holistic approach to addressing the problems of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs faced by our families, communities, and society as a whole. The diversity of NCADD is one of the organization's greatest strengths. Offering prevention programs, parenting programs, a bookstore, a RADAR (Regional Alcohol & Drug Awareness Resource) Center and a referral service allows us to offer assistance not only to the person suffering from addiction, but also to every member of the family.

We at NCADD of Central Mississippi offer programs that have proven to be effective for alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention. Even though the outcome of some of the programs cannot be measured immediately we are confident that we are making a difference in combating addiction in central Mississippi.

I invite you to join with us on our path to make NCADD more effective and successful in our efforts to address the disease of alcohol and drug addictions and related problems. As a non-profit organization we need the support of our network û our members. I look forward to seeing you at NCADD's 56th Annual Meeting on March 29, 2005.

Sincerely,
